Blacksburg -- Cristino Lara, 56, of 486 Garner Creek Road, passed away Thursday, August 30th, 2018, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Born in Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo, he was the husband of Carolyn Godinez. Mr. Lara worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife of 30 years, Mr. Lara is survived by three sons, Stevie Cogdell Jr. and wife, Lynn, Wayne Cogdell and wife, Iva, and Donnie Cogdell and wife, Jaime; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4th, 2018, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Virgil Hampton officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Donnie Cogdell Jr., Chancellor Cogdell, Rick Perry, Billy Jenkins, PeeWee Cogdell, Clay Campbell will serve as pallbearers.
