Obituary for James Franklin "Jim" Morgan

Blacksburg -- James Franklin Morgan, 88, of 718 Dravo Road, passed away Tuesday, September 24th, 2013, at his residence.

Born in Shelby, Mr. Morgan was the widower of Janie Sue Morgan and the son of the late John Franklin and Zilia Bridges Morgan. He retired from textiles and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Mr. Morgan is survived four sons, Jerry Morgan of Blacksburg, Lyn Morgan of the home, John Morgan of Blacksburg, and Carl Morgan of Earl, NC; two daughters, Judy Olson and Jan Baucum, both of Blacksburg; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Morgan, a sister, Bessie Pruitt, and a brother, Bonny Morgan.

The family will receive friends September 26th, 2013 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at Faith Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held September 26th, at 2:00pm at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Goodman officiating. Interment will follow in Cook Memorial Gardens. Randy Weaver, Chris Weaver, Jimmy F. Morgan, Ricky Morgan, Terry Morgan, and Jimmy R. Morgan will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at their respective homes.
