Obituary for Daniel Clayburn "Dan" Turner

Blacksburg -- Daniel Clayburn "Dan" Turner, 77, of 238 Bridges Road, passed away January 23rd, 2014 at Residence.

Born in Blacksburg, he was married to Carolyn Porter Turner for 57 years and was the son of the late Clayburn Turner and Nell White Turner. He retired from Duke Energy as a supervisor and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Mr. Turner was also a member of the Buffalo Lodge #202 AFM.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Turner is survived by a son, Scott Turner and wife, Sharon, of Blacksburg; a daughter, Cindy Turner, of Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Daniel Clayburn Turner III, Ellen Turner Owens; three great-grandchildren, Marilyn, Clay, and Cash Turner.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner was preceded in death by a son, Danny Turner Jr., and a great-grandson, Dennis Austin (Denny) Turner.

Graveside services will he held Saturday, January 25th, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Price, Mr. Bruce Cook, and Mr. Daniel Turner, III officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Buffalo Baptist Church Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Buffalo Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 786, Blacksburg, SC 29702..

The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice Compassus for everything they did to serve all of Mr. Turner's family throughout his illness.

The family will be at the residence.
