Obituary for Carolyn Fay Hughey (Martin)
Blacksburg -- Mrs. Carolyn Fay Martin Hughey, 73, of 513 S. Charleston St., passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at her home.
Born in Hickory Grove, she was the widow of James Hughey and the daughter of the late James Carlton Martin and Eunice Pursley Martin. Carolyn retired from textiles and was a member of Cherokee Gospel Tabernacle.
Surviving Mrs. Hughey are two daughters, Nancy Carroll Engle and Patricia Carroll and husband, Wendall, all of Blacksburg; two brothers, Joe Martin of Blacksburg and Wallace Martin of Hickory Grove; a sister, Polly Moore, of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, John Carroll and wife, Jessica, Deanna Conyers and husband, Brandon, and Jayden Carroll; and two great-grandchildren, Arielle and Isabelle Conyers.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hughey was preceded in death by two brothres, Gene and Jerry Martin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, 18th of January, 2019, from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM at Gordon Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 5:30 PM in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Richard Sellars officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Cherokee Gospel Tabernacle, 621 4th Street, Gaffney, SC 29340.
