Obituary for Charles Burgess
Blacksburg -- Charles Dale Burgess, 79, of 314 Old Buffalo Church Road, passed away Tuesday, November 24th, 2020, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Tazwell, WV, he was the husband of Anna Nivens Burgess and the son of the late Herbert Burgess and Opal Webb Burgess. Mr. Burgess previously worked for Ford Motor Company.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Burgess is survived by three brothers, Kenny Burgess (Janet) of Blacksburg, Dennis "Dink" Burgess (Jewel) of Blacksburg, and Roger Burgess of Gaffney; one sister-in-law, Betty Burgess of York; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Burgess, his daughter, Celinda Burgess, brothers, Cleve "Junior" Burgess, and Clyde Burgess, and Oliver Lee "Tubby" Burgess, and sisters, Nancy Sumners, Mary Louise Withrow, and Virginia "Gin" Hobbs.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Magnolia Hall, 810 Blacksburg Highway, Blacksburg, SC at 1:00 pm.
The family will be at their respective residences.
