Obituary for Jerry Daniel Neal Sr.
Spartanburg -- Jerry Daniel Neal Sr., 78, departed this earth for a family reunion in heaven. He was born March 24, 1943 to Guy and Daisy Spencer Neal.
Jerry graduated from Blacksburg High School and Limestone College. He received his Master's Degree from Converse College. He retired from teaching math at Blacksburg High School. After retirement, he worked for H&R Block Tax Service. He was a member of Mount Paran Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a member of the media team. He had many hobbies, including building, car repair, beekeeping, woodworking, photography, gardening, and computer.
He is survived by his wife, Glennis C. Neal, son Jerry Daniel Neal Jr., granddaughter Cierra Neal, and great-granddaughter Zayla Matson.
Funeral services will Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mt. Paran Baptist Church, 105 Mt. Paran Road, Blacksburg, SC with Rev. Lee Coyle officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery. Clark Smith, Justin Smith, Dustin Matson, Hal Howington, Larry Irvin, and Chris Thomas will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers would be appreciated or memorials may be made to Mount Paran Baptist Church, 105 Mount Paran Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702 or to Cancer Association of Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties, 295 East Main Street Suite 100, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
The family will be at their respective homes.
