John Thomas  Goforth Jr.
Gaffney -- John Thomas Goforth, 92, of 1434 North Limestone Street, Gaffney, formerly of 401 West Lime Street in Blacksburg, passed away Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 at his residence.

Born in Patterson Springs, North Carolina, Mr. Goforth was the widower of Letha L. Hardin Goforth and the son of the late John Thomas Goforth, Sr. and Nannie Rebecca Patterson Goforth. He worked as a supervisor at Burton-Dixie Corporation and was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church.

Mr. Goforth is survived by one son, John Leonard Goforth of Spartanburg; one brother, Bobby Goforth of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Thelma Blanton of Shelby, NC; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by daughter Faye Roseland Goforth Leagon, grandson Tommy Leagon, brother Charles Goforth, and sisters Margaret Hardin and Pauline Hannon.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 30th, 2013 from 10:00am - 11:00am at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30th, at 11:00am at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Tim Knotts officiating. Interment will follow at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at their respective residences.
