Obituary for Jones Adams Jr.
Gaffney--Mr. Jones Adams, affectionately known as "June" or "Pops", 88 of 134 New Street, Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 20th, 2019 in Spartanburg, SC.
Son of the late Jones Adams Sr. and Lessie Adams, Mr. Adams was born in Gaffney and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was last employed by Limestone Mills in Gaffney,where he retired as a Truck Driver.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Josephine Adams, a daughter, Gloria Jean Littlejohn, a son, Johnny Allen, five brothers, Conell Adams, William Adams, Willie Edward Adams, Oscar Adams, and John Otha Adams, two sisters, Elizabeth Adams Haile and Pansey Adams Hardin.
Left to cherish memories, two daughters, Denise Adams Jeter (Anthony) and Shelia Littlejohn Pearson (Karry). three sons, Jerome Adams (Emma), Emuel Adams and Curtis Wilkins. Reared in the home as daughters, Lynette Peaks and Vanessa Dawkins, one brother, Claude Adams of Buffalo N.Y., two sisters in law, Annie Ruth Smith of Pacolet S.C. and Mary Adams of Buffalo N.Y., 17 Grandchildren a host of Great grand children, relatives and friends. Special thanks to three caregivers, Donna Wilson, Shareika Adams (Granddaughter) and Latonya Adams (Granddaughter), along with the staff of Spartanburg Regional Hospice.
A home going celebration for Mr. Adams will be held on Thurday, December 26th 2019 at 1 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel of Gaffney with Dr. Clarence J Davis and Dr. Lee Byers Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney.
The Gaffney location of Gordon Mortuary is serving the Adams family.
