Obituary for Knox Winfred Foster Sr.

Blacksburg -- Knox Winfred Foster Sr, 76, of 870 Jumping Branch Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Born in Shelby, he was the husband of Betty Jean Carroll Foster for over 56 years and the son of the late Lloyd and Florence Godfrey Foster. Knox formerly worked in a factory that made compact discs and he was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Foster was a loving person. He was a loving husband, a loving father, and a friend to everyone. Knox also loved the outdoors and farming. One of his greatest joys was taking care of his cows and horses.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Foster is survived by a son, Winfred Foster Jr; a daughter, Sandra Jean Foster Ruff; a grandson, Matthew Jason Ruff; and a granddaughter, Savannah Ray, all of Blacksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 17th, 2019, from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18th, at 3:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Beam and Rev. Phillip Gallman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
