Blacksburg -- Myers Steven Duncan, 66, went home to be with the Lord onTuesday, December 15th, 2020, at his residence.
Born in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of the late Myers L. Duncan and Dorothy Duncan Wood and Gene H. Wood. Mr. Duncan retired from Duke Power. He later was employed by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department. He attended Hopewell Baptist Church.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, April Duncan and Ernest Combs, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a son, Jonathan M. Duncan and wife, Angela Duncan, of Blacksburg, SC; five grandchildren, Teagan Combs, Urijah Combs, Christian Duncan, Nathan Duncan, and Kaleb Duncan; two sisters, Mary D. Martin (Mike) of Shelby, NC, and Janice D. Martin (Joey) of Gaffney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his former wife, Sharon Good Fort, of Blacksburg, SC.
Steve was a great lover of animals, especially his dogs and cats. He loved fishing and hunting and also loved just walking around his land and enjoying nature. He love NASCAR Racing.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church, 511 Old Chester Road, Blacksburg, SC, or Compassus Hospice, 212 East Floyd Baker Boulevard, Gaffney, SC..
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of Compassus Hospice, Gaffney, SC, and to his private nurses, Rebecca Camp and Sonya Evans.
