Obituary for James Steve Cooksey

Blacksburg -- James Steve Cooksey, 52, of 407 Bear Creek Road, passed away Friday, February 7th, 2014, at Novant Health Gaffney Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, he was married to Kelly Christenberry Cooksey and was the son of the late John Robert Cooksey and Louise Richards Dover. He worked as a pipe fitter and attended Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cooksey is survived by three sons, Jaymy Brown of Gaffney, Daniel Christenberry of Blacksburg, and Donovin Eddy of Blacksburg; three daughters, Dianna Cooksey, Lacey Smith, and Jamie Cooksey, all of Gaffney; a brother, Jerry Cooksey, of Blacksburg; a sister, Teresa Ramsey, of Blacksburg; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 10th, 2014, from 6:00 pm -7:00 pm at Cherokee Falls Missionary Fellowship Church. Memorial services will immediately follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Gregg Martin officiating.

The family will be at the residence and at the home of his daughter, Lacy Smith, 316 Gardner Road, Gaffney.
