Obituary for Novella Davis (Greer)
Blacksburg -- Novella Greer Davis, 73, of 614 Old Chester Road, passed away Wednesday, February 28th, 2018, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.
Born in Lenoir, NC, she was the wife of Thomas Davis and the daughter of the late Gonzalo Greer and Elsie Phillips Greer. Mrs. Davis worked as a Industrial Engineer and was a member of Nazareth Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Limestone College.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Thomas Boyce Davis Jr. and wife, Kelly, and William Michael Davis and wife, Melissa, all of Blacksburg; one brother, Doug Greer of Lenoir, NC; six grandchildren, John Davis of Gaffney, Chloe Davis and Chris Prouty, of Blacksburg, Alyssa Davis of Iron Station, NC, Mattthew Davis and Will Davis of Blacksburg.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold, Hub, Arlie, and Dean Greer and Bob Phillips and her sisters, Lennis Eller, Avis Suddreth, and Audrey Davis.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 4th, 2018, from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jamie Billings, Rev. Dennis Willoughby, and Rev. Michael Owen officiating. Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Matthew Davis, Chris Prouty, John Davis, Danny Ham, Dennis Davis, and Derrick Ham will serve as pallbearers.
The family will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Iron City Ministries; 109 W Cherokee St, Blacksburg, SC 29702.
