Thomas Alfred  Hambright, Jr.
Blacksburg -- Thomas Alfred Hambright, Jr., 82, formerly of 1617 Antioch Road, passed away Saturday, July 25th, 2015, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Blacksburg, he was the widower of Avis Hambright and the son of the late Thomas Hambright and Mable Hambright. Mr. Hambright retired as a diesel mechanic with Pilot Freight Carriers after more than 40 years and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he formerly served as a deacon. He was a US Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr Hambright also served as a First Responder with the Antioch Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years.

Mr. Hambright is survived by two daughters, Janet Hambright of Lake Tillery, NC and Ann Hambright of Mooresville, NC; one brother, Anderson Hambright of Blacksburg, and four sisters, Sue Drye of Blacksburg, Louise Roberts of Spartanburg, Aileen Cantrell of Kennesaw, Ga., and Bess Phifer of Kings Mountain, NC.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Hambright, and one sister, Lucy Kinard.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 27th, 2015, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church 839 Antioch Road Blacksburg, SC 29702. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Harold Beam and Rev. Vernon Craig officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Herb Houser, Larry Larkin, Mike Hambright, Joe Hambright, Skip Hambright, and Carlton Kinard will serve as pallbearers. Roger Crisp will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Memorials may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 839 Antioch Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702 or to the Antioch Volunteer Fire Department, 927 Antioch Rd, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at their respective homes.
