Obituary for Marlene Lowery (Gossett)

Gaffney -- Marlene Gossett Lowery, 72, of 302 River Drive, passed away Tuesday, December 6th, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg, she was the widow of Hobert Lowery and the daughter of the late Louie Lee Gossett and Maude Quillen Gossett. Mrs. Lowery worked as Painter and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lowery is survived by two sons, Tony Lowery and wife, Kathy, an Preston Lowery and wife, Renea, all of Gaffney; one daughter, Tracy Grimes and husband, Dean, of Gaffney; one brother, Ben Lee Gossett of the home; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Arrowood, Dylan Lowery, Ashlee Crawford, Angela White, and Sky Lowery; and 6 great-grandchildren, Marlena Crawford, Kyle Wofford, Nickolus Lowery, Luke Martin, Hunter Mullinax, and Levi Smith

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Wisher, and one granddaughter, Sara Mullinax.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 9th, 2016, from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Graveside services will immediately follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens at 2:00 pm with Rev. James Gardner and Rev. Larry Melton officiating. Hunter Mullinax, John Crawford, Eddie Brown, Preston Lowery, Dylan Lowery, and Phillip Humphries will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family will be at their respective homes.
