Obituary for Piney Trees Martin Sr.

Gaffney -- Piney Trees Martin Sr., 96, of 131 Piney Knob Dr., passed away Monday, March 27th, 2017, at Mary Black Health System - Gaffney.

Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Frances Allison Martin and the son of the late Robert and Mary Scates Martin. Mr. Martin retired from textiles and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He also served in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Martin is survived by his three sons, Danny K. Martin and wife, Diane, Piney Martin, Jr. and wife, Barbara, and Robert Martin and wife, Angela, all of Gaffney; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his sister, Maebelle Hampton, and brother, Wilbur Martin.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 30th, 2017, at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Mickey Mullinax officiating.
