Oveta Jo "Cici"  Moss (Earls)
Gaffney -- Oveta J. (Cici) Earls Moss, 58, of 115 Gaffney Ave., passed away Thursday, June 13th, 2013, at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, Mrs. Moss was the wife of George Edward (Ed) Moss of the home and the daughter of the late Leroy Barron Earls Sr. and Carole Marcella Gosnell Earls. She retired as a genealogist at the library and was a local historian. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she was a staff member of the family history center of the church, and she was a member of the Cherokee County Coin Club.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moss is survived by three sons, Joseph E.E. Moss and wife, Heidi Wooden, of Cowpens, George E. Moss, II and wife, Caroline Black, of Gaffney, and David Lee Moss and wife, Dorothy Fowler, of Gaffney; two daughters, Ella J. Moss Griffiths and husband, Jason, of Kingsport, TN and Mary Ada E. Moss Oxford and husband, Josh, of Gaffney; six brothers, David and Myrtle Earls, of Blacksburg, Barry Earls and wife, Stephanie, of Gaffney, Danny Earls of Gastonia, Gregory Earls and wife, Heather, of Utah, Jeramy Earls of Blacksburg, and LeGrande (Bo) Earls and wife, Susan, of American Fork, UT; five sisters, Jodi Earls Ray of Blacksburg, Laura Earls Sansing and husband, Tom, of Blacksburg, Teresa Earls Cerny and husband, Carlton, of Blacksburg, Donnita Earls Braniff of Blacksburg, and Alexandrea Earls Bennett and husband, Mark, of Syracuse, UT; and thirteen grandchildren, Stephen Joseph Moss, Melissa Nichole Moss, Jared Brent Moss, Cody Brigham Moss, Jocelyn Elizabeth Moss-Griffiths, Caitlin Rose Moss, Caleb Steven Moss, Donnita Kay Moss, Mary Ann Ember Moss, Benjamin Leroy Moss, Emma Jay Oxford, Annabelle Lei Oxford, and Taylor NiKole Oxford.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin Guinevere Moss, and a brother-in-law, Chris Braniff.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 15, 2013 from 6:00-7:30PM at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 16th, at 4:00PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on West Buford Street in Gaffney with Bishop Brian Cox officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens. Stephen Moss, Thomas Sansing, Willie Earls, Jacob Earls, Matthew Earls, Jimmy Warren, Alan Cerny, and Kaleb Earls will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the residence.
