Annie Ruth  Upton
Blacksburg -- Annie Ruth Upton, 66, of 157 Ridgecrest Drive, passed away Wednesday, July 29th, 2015, at her residence.

Born in Newberry, she was the wife of Robert Upton and the daughter of the late Mac and Annie Davenport. Mrs. Upton retired from textiles and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Upton is survived by two sons, Scott Upton of Blacksburg and Timmy Upton of Blacksburg; one daughter, Rebecca Sellars of Gaffney; one brother, Jeff Davenport of Laurens; two sisters, Linda Kirby of Gaffney and Teresa Gordon of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Tyra Long, Hayley Love, Greg Rector, Joseph Sanlin, and Holly Upton; and four great-grandchildren, Haylen Ellis, Kori Long, Mariah Long, and Audriana Love.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Upton was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Angel and Baily Sellars, and one brother, Mike Davenport.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31st, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. William Blanton officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Jerry Wayne Phillips, Eddie Lineras, Eddie Malcolm, Don McAbee, Scott Upton, and Tobby Sanlin will serve as pallbearers. Holly Upton will be an honorary pallbearer.

The family will be at the residence.
