Obituary for Annie Mae "Cedar Ball" Lanier (Cobb)

Blacksburg -- Rev. Annie Mae (Cedar Ball) Cobb Lanier, 71, of 516 Peeler Road, passed away Wednesday, July 24th, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, Rev. Lanier was the wife of Rev. Willie Lanier of the home and the daughter of the late Carl and Alma Pugh Cobb. She worked as a minister and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church.

In addition to her husband, Rev. Lanier is survived by three sons, Roger Lanier, Jerry (Chopper) Lanier, and Tommy Lanier, all of Blacksburg; two daughters, Teresa Ramsey and Debbie Jones, both of Blacksburg; a brother, Eugene (Buck) Cobb, of Blacksburg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Rev. Lanier was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Matthew Fisher; two sisters, Betty Jo Lanier and Lucille Parris; and a brother, Marvin Owens.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 26th, 2013, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27th, at 3:00pm at Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Gregg Martin and Rev. Lucky Earls officiating. Interment will follow at Hambright Cemetery. Olin Ramsey, David Flynn, Dennis Martin, Chris Cobb, Miles Ligon, and Carl Edward Cobb will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Christian Fellowship Church, 516 Peeler Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702.

The family will be at the home of Teresa Ramsey, 419 1st Street, Cherokee Falls.
