Obituary for John Robert Childers

Gaffney -- John Robert Childers, 76, of 312 Killion Drive, passed away Thursday, January 12th, 2017, in Grover.

Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Janice Hamrick Childers and the son of the late Wesley Childers and Minnie Jackson Childers. Mr. Childers retired as a hauler and was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Childers are three sons, Dennis Robert Childers, John Wayne Childers, and Warren Lee Childers, all of Gaffney; two daughters, Susan Lea Childers of Gaffney and Melissa Ann Chambers of Blacksburg; one brother, Roger Dale Childers, of Blacksburg; three sisters, Grace McCraw of Gaffney, Ruth Richards of Blacksburg, and Jackie Dover of Gaffney; and fourteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Childers was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Marvin (Bob) Childers.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 17th, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Roger Childers officiating.

The family will be at the residence.
